Is your child's reading headed in the right direction?
Does your child have reading problems?
Perhaps he or she has difficulty sounding out or decoding words.
Maybe decoding skills are good, but he or she struggles to
understand what is read.
ReadWrite offers reading instruction for children of all ages - kindergarten through 12th grade. Instruction uses an
integrated approach known as Communicative Reading Strategies or CRS. CRS was developed by Dr. Janet A. Norris
(currently a professor at Louisiana State University) to help children with language and learning disabilities become
capable readers. CRS can be adjusted to match the needs of each individual, regardless of age or current reading level.
Research has shown CRS to be effective in improving word decoding and reading comprehension for children and adults.
Writing difficulties often co-occur with reading problems. If your child has trouble spelling or putting his or
her thoughts on paper, ReadWrite can help. In fact, intervention for reading and writing can be addressed at the same
time. This is not only time and cost efficient, but helps your child see the connection between reading and writing.
